By Steven A. Foley, M.D., Contributing Physician
“Monica” is a female in her mid-30s of varying ethnic background, including Asian and Polynesian. When I saw Monica in mid-2010, she presented with PCOS and weight issues. Her weight has been increasing and decreasing over the past several years, losing as much as 70 pounds but then gaining it back. Her periods ranged from 32-40 days and she exhibits hirsutism.
Monica’s OB Hx includes multiple miscarriages and premature births. Her family medical Hx includes diabetes (father), and both of her parents were obese.
